Abstract

Studying Dietrich von Hildebrand's thought, we can notice his repeated reference to Aristotle, to whom he makes some criticisms; criticisms that are still accepted and followed by his closest disciples and commentators. However, knowing Aristotelian thought as well, it seems that many of these criticisms are not well done. Or rather, in some points Hildebrand didn't correctly understand this author, although Aristotle has greatly influenced Hildebrand's thought too. Thus, with this article, I want not only to show these criticisms, but also to show how Hildebrand, in some of them, didn't understand Aristotelian thought well.
