Abstract
This year marks the centenary of the birth of Samuel Beckett. The convenience of analyzing the development and inclusion of writing in the arc of literature as an institution finds in Beckett's work the exemplary result of a carefully planned, staged and interpreted design on the value of words in the social sphere, philosophical and literary. Therefore, the actuality of his writing, even apart from the importance (decisive in our opinion) that it has had in successive generations, delimits its coordinates within the framework of the literary institution. Perhaps the actuality of his literature, even considered academically under the label «Theatre of the Absurd» is an island in the literary panorama, which can only be considered superfluous or surpassed in appearance, and whose axis revolves around the meaning of human existence from language itself, language now seen as the main character.
