Abstract
The revolution against climate change: An approach to the challenges of climate action
The political, social, economic and environmental challenges caused by global warming are rapidly accelerating the capacity of current forms of democracy to adapt to this phenomenon. At the same time, the consequences of the public policies that should be used against climate change will imply a great change in our societies and in the living conditions of the great majority if we want them to be effective. To avoid the worst of the catastrophic scenarios related to global warming an immediate and sustained world mobilization, unprecedented in history, will be necessary; this the challenge of the climate action. In short, if climate change represents the most urgent dare of modern democracies what is intended to be addressed in this lines is how, and what kind of organizations and movements, will make citizen participation a necessary tool to build public policies with social support and oriented towards the decarbonization of society and adaptation to new scenarios derived from inevitable changes.
