Abstract
Although the philosophical paths of George Santayana and Edmund Husserl went through different paths, it is surprising the moment when, after the footsteps of Cartesian skepticism in search of evidence, both seem to meet around the discovery of the essence. This article compares the two works where this dialogue was established during the twenties of the last century: Santayana’s Scepticism and Animal Faith, and Husserl’s Cartesianische Meditationen.
