Abstract
Taking as a starting point the work of Serge Viderman, La construction de l’espace analytique, published in 1970, I question the validity of the epistemological break which the psychoanalyst claims to insert in the space of analytic psychotherapy. The analyst would not henceforth uncover unconscious contents but create them. How can psychoanalysis therefore escape arbitrary? Viderman’s book leads to violent polemics and for several decades, "discoverers" and "inventors" clash without a third way is considered. I propose to see in the "constructive phenomenology" a foundation for the construction of a psychoanalytic space which escapes arbitrary because it is limited by an intuitive critical agency.
