Abstract
This article is a tribute to Carlos Llano Cifuentes and the primary objective is to study the importance of Metaphysics (or First Philosophy), having in mind the context of the Philosophy of Nature and considering the theme of abstraction. To achieve this purpose, and following Llano, one examines the problem of rationalism derived from Kant’s doctrine, one unravels the risk that it represents to the First Philosophy and then one treats the mathematical issue related to the abstraction topic. In order to easily distinguish the type of abstraction with regards to Metaphysics, it is necessary to feature the material abstraction; key issue in the development of rationalist Metaphysics or realist Metaphysics. Once the subject of two possible Metaphysics is reached, we inquire about the kind of Metaphysics that is necessary for the development of a complete Philosophy. Finally we make explicit the required qualities for Metaphysics according to Llano’s viewpoint.
