Abstract

The problematic dialogue between philosophical reason and artistic reason is proposed as the enclave of the discussion to find the bottom of reality and being in truth and beauty. Philosophy must recognize its aesthetic moment as productive and receptor, and art must recognize its philosophical moment as interpretive and contemplative. The path of this reunion for a mutual enrichment between art and philosophy occurs through reflection on the form within the framework of the theory of formativity elaborated by Luigi Pareyson. The form appears before the artist and the philosopher not only as that which has to be expressed through the sensible, but also as that which precedes it as an organic idea in itself and in reality. The form shines truth to be elaborated and recognized, and shines in beauty to be realized and contemplated. Thus, in a synthesis of activity and receptivity, putting the human person at the center as openness, art and philosophy will trace their own nuances not closed or definitive, but clear and outlined of truth and beauty in their relationship with the being and the experience that man makes of this.
