Abstract
Regarde-moi mon amour que je t´invente! («Look at me, my love, while I invent you»), the book by María José Palma Borrego we are reviewing, is a title that perfectly matches the title of the film under analysis, Portrait d´une jeune fille en feu (2019), by French filmmaker Céline Sciamma, and translated as «Portrait of a Lady on Fire» (available on YouTube). If the title of the drama, «Portrait» is directly linked to the love story it tells us, set in the Age of Enlightenment in France, the title of the essay, «Regarde-moi», delves deeper into and explains what «Portrait» contains.
