Abstract
El artículo define el término retórico écfrasis, desde su origen en la descripción del escudo de Aquiles realizado por Homero en la Iliada hasta su utilización en la actualidad. Trata de revelar los aspectos formales constitutivos de una écfrasis, los marcadores ecfrásticos, proponiendo como ejemplo la descripción del escudo de Eneas en Eneida de Virgilio.
