Abstract
Gustavo Bueno is in our opinion the paradigm of the true philosopher; he has offered us a masterly example of what a philosopher should do, what are the rules and methods of the philosophical profession, and what are the objectives of philosophical praxis in the strict sense. He has rightfully established himself as the Spanish Plato of the twentieth and twenty-first centuries, restorer of critical and dialectical philosophy.
Likewise, he serves as a model for those of us who follow him to understand what the philosopher's centers of attention («philosophical attention») should be: the ontological and gnoseological problems raised by the first-degree knowledge that weaves and unweaves the mundus adspectabilis, the nematologies and mythologies that make up the ideological vaults of the societies of our present day, and the arcane but always renewed by the historical dialectic problems of the philosophical tradition.
One of these purely philosophical problems is that of the history of philosophy. In this paper we will present the critical solution that Bueno proposed to such a problem, after a gloss on the academic relevance that it reached during the second half of the twentieth century.
