To Pablo: of the unfinished thought, of the torn fabric

Abstract

After the great thinker Pablo Posada Varela´s departure from this world, there is a rip in the community tissue we were in. It is our mission to find the thread from the web he created, to contribute to finish his masterpiece, or at least try it. Despite many refused to acknowledge him, Pablo Posada Varela overcame his masters, Ortega y Gasset and Richir, with ease. His thought, inspired by them, managed to achieve a new level that has served to revitalize Phenomenology, both in Spanish and in French. Posada Varela´s Ph.D. dissertation had a start, but Pablo knew it was only a mere mark on the path of thought, there was no end to such research. It is unfortunate that Pablo left us so soon and he cannot guide us anymore, however, we will always have his texts and the memory of his presence in this world. In our last conversation, I promised to interpret his philosophy. May this paper serve as a contribution to his line of thought, despite it is marked and blurred by feelings of sadness and promptness, but also as a tribute to his philosophy and his friendship, and a fulfillment of the promise I made to him.
