Abstract

This paper attempts to summarize the main lines of the Baroque as a historical and philosophical relevant time. The purpose is to show the meaning of the Baroque like a Spanish genuinely historic moment, by focusing the relevance of authors such as Suárez and, especially, Gracian, who anticipated in a sense some of the philosophical problem of the twentieth century as postmodernism, the crisis of values or eventual (factual) ontology. It is, ultimately, about claiming the Spanish thought and Spanish like genuine vehicles to thinking the present.
