Différence culturelle et frontière, une approche à partir de la pensée décoloniale: Le cas Rodolfo Kusch

Abstract

The irruption of decolonial thought is maybe one of the most important turning points in the human sciences in recent years. Currently, an interesting diversity of research related to this geophilosophical transformation is being produced within academic institutions around the world. We believe that this epistemological turn opens an important potential for the Humanities when it comes to deal with contemporary social issues. In a global context where the political agenda of the world powers is beset by debates concerning the migration “crisis”, modalities of circulation of people and the redefinition of the status of national borders, it seems interesting to invoke some elements of the decolonial thought. Throughout this work I will devote myself to call into question the ontological coordinates that render possible the Western notion of "border". I will seek to develop this contribution by departing from the assumption that the decolonial thought involves another economy of cultural difference, which opens the prospect for a new conceptualization of geographical, political and social divisions. I will present as an example of that some elements of Rodolfo Kusch’s thinking (an Argentinian philosopher), which involve similar inquiries into the ontological coordinates of Western thought and show the ethical and political implications of this re-signification of cultural boundaries.
