Muro, filtro, reducto: biopolítica de la frontera

Abstract

This text is merely an anticipated presentation of a larger monography about “borders”, which is to appear in Eikasia’s next issue. We present here some contributions regarding the biopolitical use of borders, rounded out with some thoughts about what is proper to biopolitical “actions” within the background of the UE refugee’s crisis. The irreducible polysemy of the border allows its biopolitical use, in fact, an oxymoronic use which waves through an organized chaos, through many forms of apparent dysfunctionalities that end up being functional. However, this oxymoronic way of “acting” can turn itself against the very “actors” of the biopolitical “action”. We shall complement this presentation by alluding to other papers that deal with a decolonialized conception of the border. We will finally refer to Jean-Luc Nancy’s contribution, which builds on Jasmina Jovanovic’s poems. Indeed, Jean-Luc Nancy’s text bridges the gap to Eikasia’s next monography, which will be dealing with a broader sense of “borders”, yet based on its transcendental-phenomenological sense.
