Abstract
This article tries to articulate, through the figure of the uninhabitable, a critical dialogue with the agambenian appreciation that the field is "the new biopolitical nomos of the planet". The appreciation that Western politics is deeply intertwined with the production of naked life, with a logic of the ban, acts as a basic premise that structures the reflection. However, even if this diagnosis is shared, it will also try to show some limitations in the Agamben approach. The image of the uninhabitable rises on the premise of the inescapable spatial character of the ontology of the human to allude, then, to a way of life that is stripped of the habitats and habits in which it was practiced and recognized. The uninhabitable refers to the conformation of a geography in which living is captured by a web of relations of power and violence in such a way that its distinctiveness is limited to a life that is exposed to death. It will also be argued that the production of habitats in the course of modernity is deeply intertwined with the production of 217 Junio 2017 the uninhabitable. And this requires that the analysis of the biopolitical is already ineluctably tied with the necropolitical, that the make live proposed by Foucault dialogues with a dying that works less from a production of direct death than by means of an undermining of life. This analysis, however, does not form part of an all-encompassing reading like the one proposed by Agamben, but, on the contrary, requires the formation of a critical geography that inquires about which places and on what subjectivities the experience of the uninhabitable is imposed. In this sense, to analyze the production of the uninhabitable we will trace the semblant of a cinegetic power (that interweaves the sovereign, the disciplinary and the securitarian) concerned with the capture of spaces and bodies. The geography of the uninhabitable rises above the political-juridicaleconomic-symbolic framework that draws that cinegetic power that undoes the living by subsuming it in a naked exhibition that is provoked in the vulnerability of the human. It will be argued, finally, that all this finds in the warlike and punitive the predominant domains for the production of the uninhabitable.
