Abstract
We could think that Descartes is a misologist if
we don't understand that his doubt is only
methodical. And it's only because of this that
we can compare his analitical method, used in
the Methaphysic Meditations, with the
hypothetical method that Plato exposes in the
Phaedo. Through a comparison of the two
methods we find out that both methods operate
by establishing a first hypothesis (a first statement) and then deducing logically what derives from it. Their conviction, in methaphysical manners, is to go from the cause to the effects and not viceversa.
