Abstract

This theoretical research analyzes the physical and neurological aspects of the abstract representation of the logical connective known as «conditional» or «material implication». It considers temporal and thermodynamic factors and their parallels with the functioning of the neural structures hypothetically involved in its neurocognitive processing. It also examines the relevance of mental imagery in humans and animals with constant body temperature regulation (homeothermia), which are more capable of carrying out logical information processing than animals without such regulation (poikilothermia). Finally, it discusses the relevance of these theoretical considerations for formal disciplines (Algebra), natural sciences (Neurosciences and Behavioural Neurology), and human disciplines (Law and normative systems in general).
