Abstract
The modern instrumental reason neglected the human value dimension, which has caused that emancipatory intentions of creation and effectiveness of the human rights concept of 1948 seem to have failed, because in the contemporary time these rights do not generate credibility nor protection; on the contrary, they seem to be oriented by power and serve as tools for domination. Therefore, Luis Villoro's theory of reasonable reason is found to be the conciliatory and pertinent alternative for reorienting the concept of human rights with the aim of achieving fairer human relations.
