Abstract

The article explores how Gilles Deleuze redefines the function and nature of philosophy in relation to other forms of thought. The first section, concerning representation, analyzes Deleuze's critique of representational processes, highlighting how philosophy must transcend mere representation to capture the underlying dynamics of reality. The second section, focusing on conceptualization, emphasizes the creation of concepts as the essential task of philosophy, distinguishing it from science and art, which operate through functions and affects. Finally, the article proposes that the distinctive feature of philosophy lies in its capacity to generate new ways of thinking, setting it apart from traditional systems of knowledge. The article underscores the relevance of Deleuze’s redefinition of philosophy in today’s world, where traditional modes of thought are increasingly questioned. By challenging representational processes and emphasizing conceptual creation, Deleuze's approach offers a fresh perspective on how to understand and engage with complex realities. This innovative framework is crucial for navigating contemporary intellectual and existential challenges. To this end, a conceptual deconstruction is undertaken to reveal the subtle differences and innovations that Deleuze introduces into the philosophical field.
