Abstract
Morphological boxes are a patterned procedure for invention. In this paper, we construct one for the texts of Seneca, Epictetus, and Marcus Aurelius. We aim to study continuity and change in these texts with respect to previous Stoicism. This construction process acts as a guiding thread to establish a comparison between eight authors. The subsequent procedure entailed a concise review of the evolution of these protocols for generating creativity on demand, the formulation of our objectives, and a meticulous, step-by-step exposition of the methodology for constructing a morphological box. The results obtained from this method allow for the precise identification of Seneca's orthodox and heterodox elements, the comprehension of Epictetus as a product of the conceptual framework established by the Stoicism that preceded him, and the explanation of the demise of this school with Marcus Aurelius. Additionally, it provides new insights into his Meditations.
