Abstract
In the present Welcome Address to the Third Symposium of the Philosophy of Nature Circle which took place on November 21st, 22nd and 23rd 2012, attention is called to the fact that the authorities of the Universidad de la Frontera, Chile, generously accepted to host our meeting. A special gratitude is addressed to Professors Rubén Leal Riquelme and Samuel Herrera Balboa, members of our Circle, who imagined this conference in their university and assured its success. Finally, and since the audience is not composed exclusively of members of the Circle, an idea is given concerning the nature and the objectives of the philosophy of nature. It is said, in particular, that this philosophy needs to be rescued from the unjust oblivion in which it finds itself to day.
